When we get back to Glenn's picture it will be a glass plate. Really? I was thinking charcoal, ox blood and a cave wall.

I can't lay my hands on any scans of photos from my military days (USN, 1956-59), so, following Nancy's lead, here's one from much earlier (about 1940, in my cowboy days). James

Summer of '76, when I was 23 and living in the Ardeche, south of France. Taken with an Instamatic I'd bought a few months earlier in Marseilles. Shot by a hot farmer's wife on one of our trips out. I was rolling a Bergerac, probably.

OK, since we're all going farther back than young adulthood, here's my official 1st-grade pic: Originally in color, I don't remember shifting it to b&w when I scanned it, but I suppose it couldn't have been anyone else but me.

Sometime in 1935, I don't remember but I think it was the last time I ever wore a dress? No-- I have never been that drunk

My one and only baby picture. I was just a few months old. My curtain call for a musical, in which I had the lead singing and dancing role. The show was performed in the school yard as part of end-of-year school festival. I was 10 tears old. Fast forward to age 17 when I joined a Hungarian folk dancing group in Paris. Larry, Folk dancing was my passport to explore a new and exciting world beyond the confine of my neighborhood. I felt like a butterfly leaving her cocoon.

I was too shy to be be naked on the rug, so what did the photographer do? Put me in a dress. Yes, Dr. Freud, lots of problems started then and there. Worst of all, it's hard to find size 12 spiked heel shoes. Larry, You came up with a great subject for this thread, which got lots of people out of their summer doldrums and fired them up enough to post old pics of themselves, including me and my cute sweetie pie, Claudia. There is a dearth of new threads that call for members to post photos, IMO. How about more threads being generated by the newbies? So many NFF members, so few that are active.

This pic is a repost, but it is the only one I have handy: me and my first 35mm! Talk about excited...

I'm a bit late to this thread, but here's one of me: I look pretty happy with myself to be on the beach. Santiago - that shot of you with your first proper camera is pretty cool.
