Some great Kodachrome stuff here (perhaps a tad over-sharpened and over-tweaked a bit on some).

I saw the "Bound for Glory" exhibit at the Library of Congress (LOC) in 2006, and was impressed enough to buy the catalog. Some wonderful shots. By the way, these are all in public domain and high-res files are available for download from the LOC in case anyone wants to get prints.

Well Major, they may have sharpened the photos, but they also sharpened my memory bank. I have been to or through many of these places.
Potato starch out of Ft.Kent & Caribou Maine to Middletown Ohio. Soda ash from out of Dillon Mt to Chicago Il. Beer out of Chicago to points south & west. And the list could go on. I have even seen some of the buildings shown.
But to me they are much more interesting seeing them here than it was when I seen them years ago. When I seen them they were only destinations or wide spots in the road, now they have some meaning to me. I feel now that I have missed a lot.

I've been to Pie Town! Nice pie there. Our waitress was having a tough day though. She took our order then burst into tears and ran out of the restaurant. Never found out what was going on, but we got our pie!
