I once compared this lens with a Summicron-C.

I know Raid.. Same class.. Use it this week and let me see what it can do with some Tri-X in Rodinal  at EI 400 full stand and 1-100. if you have time. I would love to see that lens in action.

I don't have any Tri-X nor do I develop film, but I will use the lens this weekend. It's already in my camera bag. I took out the Heliar 50/3.5 and replaced it with the Pentax.

The rendition is creamy looking and not as surgically sharp as some modern lenses.  Scroll up a few postings for two examples.

Larry,
I used to develop my B&W film many years ago,and it was always lots of fun to see the developed negatives and then see the images after being printed. I will pass to my girls the history of Iraq and what has really happend there, and if I find the time and energy, I will teach them photography. Your advise is a very good one since commercial developing and scanning often results in relatively mediocre results, considering the quality lenses that I am using.

Al Kaplan used to develop for me B&W film some times, but he has passed away.

There are things that are no meant to be spread around here or in the news.
For me, it is a family issue. I don't want to leave this world without my daughters keeping Iraq in their thoughts.

Larry,
It is safer to discuss lenses and cameras and photography.
Thanks.

Al died at Christmas time or so. RFF has two threads about it. People donated money in his name, and now his son will direct that money for a photography scholarship in Al's name.

People leave this world, and there is more than one person at RFF who passed away last year. Al's passing away we heavily commented on, but there was Richard (Pixtu) who passed away with anyone noticing for a while.
