It's been pretty quiet here in this forum...so have at it.  I'm pretty thick skinned so I can take it.

Hi, Kirk,

I think that this image would be better cropped square (losing some of the space on the left).  Now, let it be said that I sometimes lean towards too much going on in an image, and need to learn to appreciate blank space.

Also, I like the OOF blossom at the top very much.  However, I think it either needs to be completely there (my preference), or cropped more strongly, so that it doesn't look like a mistake that it's not all there.

I'll have to try the square crop.

And I totally agree about the top one.  I think (hope) that I just clipped it a little when scanning.  I'll have to go back to my neg for it.

Thanks.

mmmmm .... square crop?
you've already cropped when composing the image, just before pressing the shutter.

and yes, I'm sure you've framed it right, and the blossom at the top was cropped while scanning.

happy to see flowers here (I'm a newbie in this forum) - I'm just finishing an Ibiscus in front of an Araucaria araucana.
it's too late now, doubt that I can finish and upload today, but will try. i should post it in my own thread, is it so?

liked yours very much, never tried flowers in b&w -- and the more I look at it the less I think it needs cropping.
