I finished my photo-book. Inspired by many including Craig Nelson (the chief here) and Mark Colman (Major Black) and others, I took advantage of the self-publishing technology to produce an honest to goodness photo-book. It's 146-pages result of months of work. It is neither as easy nor it is as effortless as I though at first. And I couldn't have done it without the support of my family. Of which you all here are -- in a sense -- an extension of. Please take a read here for more info on what this photo-book is about. Comments and critiques are of course welcome. And if you're bored/rich enough to buy a copy, I'll extend this guarantee (only to Nelsonfoto members in good standing): If you do not like the book for any reason, please send it back to me, I'll refund your purchase price *and* shipping. Under one condition, you must tell me what to improve on.

I finished my photo-book. Very nice looking book Will. I like that it's already published and it's obtainable right now. If only I could scrape up some change.... -Mike

Congratulations!
Which publishing service did you use, and how did you find the quality?

Thanks all for the moral support. My true wish is to have enough money to order one for everyone here, since I value your inputs. That includes you, Ed Paul, I use blurb dot com. I've been using their service for almost three years now, it all started when I made a photo-book for my daughter's birthday two years ago, it was a big hit at the birthday party, so I've been using their service since. Quality-wise, It's actually very good. I was surprised when I received the prototype book (the one in the pictures), the black and white contrast was preserved (although I already compensated for darkening when I upload the digital images). And I like the look of the overall binding, it does look like a photo-book you can buy in the bookstore.

Great work, Will. Just curious-was getting an ISBN number part of the publishing process? (I'm wondering how much trouble and $$ is involved in getting an ISBN).
