I am not good with any repair job.
Is there an easy fix to get the lens to close down the aperture? It stays wide open.

Do I need some lighter fluid?

Thanks.

Raid

It probably has oil on the blades. In order to fix it, you must remove the lens elements. I wouldn't even try that with that lens, and I've been known to try anything. Once.

I will send Eddy Smolov the lens. It is not worth a lot, but it is sharp and I have no other lens for the Koni Omega M.

For those of you residing in the Midwest or looking for a trustworthy repairperson who works on a wide range of classic and current cameras, Dave Easterwood is a fantastic repair source. He's based out of his home in Chelsea, Michigan and has over 25 years worth of experience in camera repair. Dave also maintains a massive source of dedicated parts and parts cameras - a full basement and two storage sheds (which I've seen myself, when I visited his home - he CLA'd my Rolleiflex 2.8C for me about a month ago). He also mentioned that he does custom fabrication work. It wouldn't hurt to ask if you want something custom-made or modified.

Dave is a wonderfully friendly and personable guy, keeps up with telephone and email communication, and will explain everything that is needed to get your camera back to working order - or not needed, if he finds that your camera is still within spec. He gives free estimates and doesn't mind testing your camera quite thoroughly before making suggestions. Fast turnaround and reasonable prices. Good repairpeople who do fine work on a wide range of cameras seem to be getting harder to find, and Dave is a real gem. Here's his contact information:
