Use a credit/debit/check card for all PayPal transactions. I refuse to link my account to a bank account

Glenn - I'm sure you know this, but a disadvantage of not linking a bank account is that it costs.  The recipient is charged a fee of 4.9% + $0.30 USD and there is a limit of 5 transactions per 12 month period on individual accounts (http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-fees-outside).  Receiving money is free if from a bank account, for individual vs. business accounts.  So, if someone is going to send you money that is backed by credit card vs. bank account, you should consider having the sender absorb the fees.  Maybe I am lucky, but I have never had a bad experience with PayPal.

Yes, I'm aware of that fee. Most people do add on to cover the fees.
